Japanese board games are famous for their exquisite illustrations and interesting and novel game content. The "Fat Detective" we just introduced is very popular, and some people even left a private message asking us to introduce more Japanese board games. The editor who has always loved playing different types of board games recently found a box of super luxurious Japanese board games online. This box of board games made me and my friends sleepless and forgetful about eating. There are 3 games in this box of Japanese board games, you heard it right! It’s 3 games! This box of board games is a fantasy game produced by " japanime Games " and " DOMINA GAMES ". It is a combination set of "Astrology Kingdom", "Elf Story" and "Dark Night Tribe". The officially recognized overseas partner "Simple Board Games" translates Japanese into Simplified Chinese, making it easier for players to understand the rules of the game, and they can play even if they don't understand Japanese. Let’s unbox these 3 games for you now!
Game 1: "Astrology Kingdom - Latria"
In the ancient Babylonian country, astrology was used to predict the future. The person who could accurately predict the "sun", "moon" and "North Star" was hailed as a messenger of God and would also become the king of New Babylon. But a solar eclipse threatens the heavens. Who can successfully predict the future and become the next king?

Shuffle all 60 cards face down to create a card library. Each player draws 10 face-down cards from the deck and uses them as hand cards (be careful not to let other players see your hand cards). Place the card at the top of the deck face up in the center of the field. We call this card the "field card"
When "Sun Touch" appears, place the top card in the deck face up on top of "Sun Touch" (until cards other than "Sun Touch" appear) to ensure that you can see the drawing on the card below. of solid stones, the cards should be staggered. The number on the upper left of the card is "Energy", and the gems on the lower left are "Victory Points".
Each player chooses a card from their hand and plays it face down. When all players have played it, they can reverse the card and calculate the round's "energy" and "victory points". When a player plays a red "Eclipse" card, the energy value on the field and of the same type will become 0. Take the following picture as an example: The energy of the three "Suns" becomes 0, the energy of "Eclipse" is 21, and the energy of "Polaris" is 46.
After calculating the energy of the player's field cards and the cards played by the player, the type with the largest total value will become the "Victory Planet". Players who become the "Victory Planet" can obtain the field cards and the cards they played. Other players cannot obtain any cards. When the game is settled, players need to count the number of gems under the cards, and the player with the most gems wins.
Game 2: Night Clan – Night Clan
In the northern city of Bergen, there lived a duke and his seven beautiful daughters. One day, a mysterious masked man appeared in front of the Duke and warned him: "Tonight, when the sun sets, the trolls in the forest will attack Bergen and steal the Duke's daughter and treasure." The Duke asked this man to His seven beautiful daughters and treasures were hidden. In exchange, the Duke promised him a share of his treasure once the threat had passed. The player plays the role of the Duke and hides his daughter and treasures in different locations to enable them to escape safely from the attack of the forest trolls.

Set location cards according to the number of players. The starting location cards include: "Lighting Products", "Church", "Library" and "Castle" (for games with more than 3 players, please add "Tower" and "Palace"; for 4-player games When adding "Bar" and "Black Forest")
Setting for 2 or more people | 3 player game setup | 4 player game setup |
Each player chooses a color, takes the player cards of the corresponding color, shuffles them thoroughly and places them face down as the player card library. Each player needs to draw 3 cards from his own card library as the starting hand (if a player draws 2 "Night Watch" cards, he can choose to reveal his hand to keep the "Night Watch" or draw 3 more cards as starting cards), the starting player can then be determined using dice/any other method that everyone agrees on.
During your turn, choose 2 cards from your hand and play them anywhere. You can play 2 cards to the same location, or you can play them to different locations. However, you may not exceed the capacity of player cards in any location. To give everyone a clear view of how many cards are in the same spot, keep the cards spread out.
When you decide to end your turn, draw 2 cards to fill your hand. The game continues clockwise until all players have exhausted all player cards. During the final round, players do not need to draw cards. Just play the last card.
When scoring, start from the location with the lowest capacity and turn all cards face up. The player with the most player cards in a location gets that location card. If multiple players have the most player cards at the same time, discard the location card. Place cards do not provide points, but they can determine the winner in the event of a tie. If there are forest trolls/mistletoe in a location, resolve their effects. The owner gets points for the remaining cards. When all locations have been settled, the player with the most points is the winner.
Game 3: Elf Story – Margot: La fée
The elves of "Margot" bring luck to people, and the elves are jealous and hated by the witch because of their power. One day, the witch stepped into the kingdom of elves and captured them. The vicious witch even lied to the human king that elves were dangerous existences, and used magic to manipulate the king into confiscating all things related to elves in an attempt to eliminate the fact that elves existed in the world. The Elf Queen and the few survivors escaped to the illusory world, but their existence gradually began to be forgotten by the world due to the witch's influence. After losing people's faith, the magic power of the elves slowly weakened. The queen decided to use up her last magic power before losing her life and ordered the remaining elves to launch a rescue operation. "Let's take back our companions and our story!" A group of elves are determined to bravely break into the city of humans and witches, vowing to rescue their companions from the hands of the witch.

Game flow
Each player can choose his favorite color chess pieces and the corresponding color card list. Then place all the "Flower Elf" cards face up, and shuffle the remaining Elf cards face down to form the "Elf Card Library". Each player randomly draws 2 cards from the Elf card library, chooses one of them as his clone, and places it face down in front of him. Put the remaining cards face down into the box. No more cards will be used in this game.
When everyone has chosen their clones, turn over the selected cards at the same time. Players place their pieces on the corresponding numbers on the scoreboard based on the "victory points" marked on the selected elf cards. Then uncover 3 Elf cards from the Elf deck and place them side by side as the "supply area".
The town cards are divided into "Human City" and "Witch City", and then they are shuffled face down to form a deck. The starting player places 2 towns horizontally in front of him and starts the game. The game is mainly divided into 4 stages: "Start of Round", "Exploration Phase", "Rescue Phase" and "End of Round". There are 3 victory conditions:
- At the end of the round, all players have 6 elf cards (all took 5 turns)
- Any player's "Victory Score" reaches 24 points
- All "Flower Elves" have been rescued
Feelings after playing
After the editor tried out 3 games, my personal favorite is "Dark Night Youzu". First of all, the gameplay is high, the gameplay is simple and easy to understand, and the game time is not long. It’s no problem to play a game with friends anytime. The gameplay of "Astrology Kingdom" is very simple and the game time is relatively fast. You can quickly play a game or two during your lunch break at work/back to school. Although the gameplay of "Elf Story" is more complicated than the other two games, the gameplay is very high, so the time is also longer, and it is suitable for playing with friends at gatherings. Also note that the game has several areas, so you need to reserve more space for cards and boards.
