Carcassonne, with over 12 million copies sold, is a global phenomenon!
Simple rules deliver a profound gaming experience; it's a contemporary classic board game you shouldn't miss!
It's great for two people to play too!
Carcassonne is a beautiful ancient city in southern France and a key stronghold for the church in the Middle Ages against pagans. The castle's impregnable fortifications are still remarkable today!
The map, pieced together from individual blocks, contains castles, roads, grasslands, and monasteries, and gradually expands as the game progresses.
Players are like medieval kings or feudal lords, dispatching their subordinates to expand their territories. These subordinates can serve as knights, bandits, farmers, or monks, building, managing, or conquering castles, roads, grasslands, and monasteries. Each time a piece of the map is pieced together, the player has the opportunity to assign a subordinate to a different role. How should you piece together and assign subordinates to achieve the highest score at the end of the game? When you find a great scoring opportunity, will you still have subordinates available to deploy?
This cooperative yet competitive strategy board game will spark different strategies and alliances every time you play. In addition to being sensitive to the graphics, an open cooperative attitude is the key to victory!
Its simple rules create a profound gaming experience, which is why it won the 2001 German Game of the Year Jury Award and was voted the best game by German players.
This game not only trains thinking strategies for friends of all ages, but also fosters cooperation and interaction among friends and family, making it perfect for family fun and gatherings with friends!
The only changes to the art design of the outer packaging and instruction manual of Carcassonne 3.0 are that of Carcassonne 2.0.
Carcassonne 3.0 and 2.0 share the same art design and are compatible; they include river expansions and abbot expansions for even more fun!
★What is Carcassonne 3.0?
The rules of Carcassonne 3.0 are the same as those of Carcassonne 2.0 and Carcassonne 1.0. The only difference is the cover art and instruction manual design. It is named Carcassonne 3.0 to distinguish it from the previous two.
★Can Carcassonne 3.0 be used with other versions?
Carcassonne 3.0 and Carcassonne 2.0 have the same game sections and are compatible!
However, unlike the art design of Carcassonne 1.0, the connection points on the tiles may not fit perfectly when placing them. Those who mind this are advised against mixing them. Some expansions that only add regular or independent terrain tiles will have little impact on gameplay. (Examples: Carcassonne Maze expansion, German Cathedral expansion)
